Hengst Room, and includes more that 45,000 books, 10,000 pieces of sheet music, and approximately 20,000 biographical files on Ohio writers, musicians, and artists. Most books, periodicals, and sheet music in Ohioana’s collection are included in the State Library of Ohio’s searchable online catalog, which can be accessed by clicking the button below. To see only items in Ohioana’s collection, click Modify Search at the top of your search results page. Then select Ohioana from the Location menu.

In addition to substantial book and sheet music collections, the Ohioana Library also holds a number of archival items including scrapbooks, postcards, correspondence and other personal papers, photos, and manuscripts. A few of these materials date back to the 1700s, but the bulk are from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
