Ohioana Staff
David E. Weaver – Executive Director
David became Executive Director in 2013 after serving as Ohioana’s Development Director since 2005. Before that, David held senior development positions with the WOSU Stations and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. He also served as executive director of Malabar Farm Foundation and managing director of Columbus Light Opera, which he co-founded. David is the author of Black Diva of the Thirties: The Life of Ruby Elzy, published in 2004 by University Press of Mississippi. He attended Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati, majoring in voice.
Kathryn Powers – Assistant Director
Kathryn holds a B.A. in English from Ohio University, graduating summa cum laude in 2007. She became part of the Ohioana team in 2013 as Office Manager, moving to the Assistant Director role in 2021. Kathryn also writes and illustrates and is the Regional Advisor for the Central & Southern Ohio chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI).
Courtney Brown – Librarian
Courtney has been the librarian since 2017. She reads a lot and enjoys interacting with Ohio readers and writers.
Miriam Nordine – Library Assistant
Miriam graduated with a B.A. in English from Ohio State University in 2020, with minors in Education and Studio Art. She joined the Ohioana team in 2021 and describes herself as an aspiring artist and writer.
