Hildegarde Frey: Request for Information
Hildegarde Frey Biographical Sketch
The Ohioana Library would like to hear from any readers with knowledge
about the life or career of Hildegarde Gertrude Frey (1891-1957), or
about anything published by or about her.
We know only that Frey apparently lived all her adult life on West 100th
Street in Cleveland; that she graduated from West High School in 1910; that she
wrote a series of ten Camp Fire Girls novels (now held by the Ohioana
Library) for teen girls published from 1916 to 1920; that she attended
and graduated in 1923 from the College for Women (later Flora Stone
Mather College) at Western Reserve University (today Case Western
Reserve University); and that she became a social worker for the City of
Cleveland.
