Sarah Menkedick

Awarded to encourage writers under thirty who have not yet published a book
Sarah Menkedick was born in Cincinnati and moved to Columbus at age nine. She graduated from Grandview Heights High School in 2000.
Sarah earned a B.A. in History and History of Science from the University of Wisconsin in 2004 and spent her junior year abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France.
Since leaving Wisconsin, she has had extensive international travel and work experience.
Currently, Sarah is working toward her M.F.A. in creative nonfiction at the University of Pittsburgh and plans to graduate in the spring of 2013.
While studying at the University of Pittsburgh she has served as an editorial intern for Harper’s Magazine and the Editor- in-Chief for Glimpse.org a
program for young writers who are living, studying, or working aboard.
