Blue Front is Martha Collins’ sixth book of poetry. Other books include Critical Essays on Louise Bogan (1984) and two books of translation, The Women Carry River Water: Poems by Nguyen Quang Thieu (1997) and Green Rice: Poems by Lam Thi My Da (2005).

A graduate of Stanford University (A.B.) and the University of Iowa (M.A. and Ph.D.), Dr. Collins has been the recipient of the Cleveland Foundation’s Anisfield-Wolf Award, the Laurence Goldstein Poetry Prize, three Pushcart Prizes, and National Endowment for the Arts, Ingram Merrill, and Bread Loaf Fellowships.

She is a former Oberlin College professor.
