David Lynn was appointed as editor of the
Kenyon Review in 1994, and his tenure has seen the creation of the Kenyon Review Award for Literary Achievement in 2002,
The Patricia Grodd Poetry Prize for Young Writers in 2003, publication of The Best of the Kenyon Review in 2003, the growth of
funding sources for the magazine, and the growth of the Kenyon Review Writers Workshops for adults and young adults.
Dr. Lynn has published four books, the most recent being Year of Fire, a book of short stories, in 2005.
He also has published short stories in magazines and journals in America and abroad.
Born in Detroit, MI, Dr. Lynn attended Kenyon College, earning his B.A. in 1976 from Kenyon College and received his Ph.D. in 1984 from the
University of Virginia. He also teaches fiction writing and literature at Kenyon and serves on the Board of Directors of the Council of
Literary Magazines and Presses.
