Ohioana Walter Rumsey Marvin Grant: 2006
Jordan McMullin, formerly of Brookfield, Ohio
As writers often do, Jordan McMullin displays a wide range of interests and talents. The daughter of a third-generation golf course owner
and golf pro, she grew up playing and competing in the game. A semester abroad gave her the opportunity to study Japanese language and culture.
And though her focus is on creative writing, she helped adapt one of her short stories, “Ocha Cups for Christmas,” into the screenplay of a
short film that won an Emmy for Best Dramatic Student Film.
Her writing has been recognized with the Miami University Havighurst and Fiction Awards, the Associated Writing
Programs Intro Journals Project Award for creative nonfiction, and the Vassar College Fiction Prize.
Formerly of Brookfield, Ohio, McMullin now resides in Berwyn Heights, Maryland.
