Andrew Welsh-Huggins, a legal affairs reporter for The Associated Press, is the author of Capitol Punishment, the third installment in the Andy Hayes mystery series, set in Columbus and featuring an ex-Ohio State quarterback turned private eye. The Columbus Dispatch called the first book in the series, Fourth Down And Out, “an entertaining, easy-to-read tale worthy of Robert B. Parker.” The Richmond Times-Dispatch said of the second book, Slow Burn, to “Expect a late—and rewarding—night of addictive reading.” Welsh-Huggins is also author of the nonfiction books No Winners Here Tonight: Race, Politics and Geography in One of the Country’s Busiest Death Penalty States and Hatred at Home: Al-Qaida on Trial in the American Midwest. A 1983 Kenyon College graduate, Welsh-Huggins enjoys running, reading, watching movies, spending time with family, and waiting for the light on the waffle machine.
