Ohioana Ruth Weimer Mount Internship

This internship was established by the Ohioana Library Association to honor the legacy of the service, commitment and special contributions of
Ruth Weimer Mount. It shall reflect the spirit of Ruth Mount and will provide community-learning opportunities for Ohio college students.
It is open to full-time students of junior, senior, or graduate status majoring in fields related to the programs and services of Ohioana. These fields would include, but are not limited to: communications, education, English, history, journalism, library science, music, theater, arts, and not-for-profit administration.
The 2008 internship will be served in the spring semester / quarter, between March and June 30, 2008. The intern will be paid a stipend of $1,500 and should expect to work approximately 200 hours. At least 100 hours must be completed in the Ohioana Library. Course credit from the student’s home institution may also be available. The internship is designed to introduce students to the general programs of Ohioana, as well as to the role and involvement of volunteers in not-for-profit organizations.
The specific responsibilities of the intern will be determined within the mission and programs of the Ohioana
Library Association, and the interests and expertise of the student. Specific working hours will be arranged according the students class schedule.
The intern will complete a special project that will further his/her educational experience and will be the intern’s contribution to the legacy of Ruth Weimer Mount with the Ohioana Library Association.
Students interested in being considered for the Ohioana Ruth Weimer Mount Internship should complete the attached
application form and return it by January 15, 2008 to the address identified on the application.
All applications will be reviewed, and a screening committee will interview the top three applicants.
All applicants will be notified that their application has been received and of the exact timeline for the selection process.
